Room at the top. A bird’s-eye view. Twittering. A nesting box? No, a dove tower.
Dove towers, often connected to a casale, are being reconstructed. Much sought-after residences these days. Some are turned into private homes. Others are big enough to accommodate, autonomous apartments with private gardens.
History meeting high-tech ultra-modern. An “undecked” tower with a Boffi kitchen – designed and restored by the Spoleto architects, Architettura & Ambiente. Voilà! This I like!

I do love dove cotes, but this far I have been unaware of the towers, these really struck my admiration....14th century, you should see me gasping over this one!!

Vilka bilder och vilka byggnader! Så vackra omgivningar du har! Ett duvtorn skulle väl inte vara helt fel att bo i...
Må så gott!
Kram Ninni
Så vackert, men vad hade man duvorna till? Var det brevduvor?
Cara Ingela,
Indeed, living Italian history is really sth! Bacione, Ingrid
Cara Sparrow,
What can I say... but thank you. What an honour. I will do my best to pass the award on to others, whom I appreciate for their originality! Bacione, Ingrid
Ciao Ingrid! Redading your posts I learn lots of things about my country! I understand I'm very ignorant! Faboulous photos as usual!
How is the weather like in Umbria! Today here is a very bad weather...cold too!
Happy new week!
Vale
Cara Vale,
You are not at all ignorant. You know EVERYTHING about Lucca & Tuscany. I don't. I assume Italians are experts on their own region, first and foremost. Again, Italy is so varied. Behind a ridge... and it is tottaly different (not to mention the food). The weather is also in constant change. Today crisp, some rains in the afternoon. I just love this kind of variable weather - neither too hot, nor too cold. Bacione, Ingrid
