Hitting the roads of the Spoleto valley. Again. Currently "studying" restoration projects. This time exteriors. For me to learn more. Sorting out a building constructor per excellence.

One day you find yourself struck by lightning. The remains of a stone house. A garden, overgrown with weeds. A view to die for. Instant love, colpo di fulmine. And you are fully convinced. This is going to be the home of your dreams.

Before you know it, you find yourself the owner of a former farmer's home. In your eyes a Sleeping Beauty. Wide awake, you realize professional assistance is most needed.

A successful restoration project is the result of awareness, conscientiousness and dialogue.

Paying local traditions respect. Before your eyes is a genuine Umbrian farmhouse. Yet a home, not a museum.

Combining technical know-how and aesthetics. Paying attention to detail. A marriage between old and modern times.

Fruitful dialogue with your interpreter/architect. In order to implement your vision, foresee the range of possibilities and complications, or even avoid pitfalls.

Skilled craftsmen, rooted in local building traditions, with a sensitive ear and an eye for artistery will make your design come true.

A long process, almost a year of preparations. All worth while. At least to keep my head above water. It has been - and still is - a learning process.
