Paving our courtyards, cortili, is now on the agenda. Taking our courtyards back to what they once were. Cobbled with elements of terracotta tiles, selciata. Here a close-up from the main entrance.
The former animals' corte was just earth. This leaves us with a range of possibilities. Recycled flag stones or
developing a pattern for, again, salvaged terracotta tiles - here a herringbone pattern.

Considering the hot, dry Umbrian summer months. Considering a reduction of water consumption, we will not include grassy spaces. The green will be of horizontal design. But that is another story.

Vad roligt att få höra lite om ert husprojekt!
Så många beslut det är som ska fattas vid renoveringerar och ombyggnationer. Det låter så klokt det ni tänker göra.
En lättskött(inbillar jag mig) trädgård med hjälp av återvunnet/begagnat materiel. Inget gräs som ska klippas eller vattnas. Då kan man också lämna den för några veckor om man önskar.
Är det lätt att få tag i begagnat/återvunnet i Italien?
Jag har försökt leta begagnade möbler i Portugal men har inte hittat något ännu. Kanske är det bara antikaffärer som har sånt. Här hemma finns ju second-handbutiker som säljer allt möjligt. Både relativt nytt och riktigt gammalt.
Nu hoppas vi på sol några dagar när vi ska hjälpa dottern att bygga altan på sin gamla kolonistuga. Där handlar det mesta om secondhandfynd :)
